I am currently the Head of Technical Interview Preparation at the The Erdős Institute. In this role, I provide lectures and customized weekly problem sets to help students prepare for data science job interviews.
Previously, I was the Head of Data Science Projects for the data science bootcamps. The goal of the bootcamps is to prepare PhDs for industry by creating a portfolio-worthy data science project. The May 2021 Boot Camp cohort included 350 graduate students and post-docs from 77 universities worldwide. More than 90 academic disciplines were represented.
Some of my tasks have included:
Designing a workshop series on research in business intelligence, including market research (market trends, competitive analysis, business deliverables), UX (user research, interviewing, product design), and consumer insights (survey design, A/B tests, statistical analysis)
Working with Erdős’ corporate members to create data science project proposals that apply to real-world problems and data
Leading a team of 10 project mentors
Industry-specific data science techniques (machine learning methods, web-app development, etc.)
Business value and KPIs
Developing skill sets necessary to transition from academia into business/industry positions
Meeting with bootcampers weekly with all market-ready candidates and by holding open office hours
Creating project instructions & problem sets, and curating study resources for all bootcamp attendees
